July 19, 2019 (Cookeville, Tenn.) – Averitt Express recently celebrated a major achievement in its ongoing efforts to support military veterans transitioning to civilian careers. After making the pledge in 2016 to hire an additional 1,200 veterans by 2020, the company officially completed its 1,200th veteran hire on July 9, accomplishing its intended goal with over five months to spare.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Averitt Express has opened a new international distribution center to help support the growing amount of cargo moving through the Port of Savannah. Located less than 15 miles from the port, the new location features 44 dock doors and more than 80,000 square feet of enclosed warehousing and distribution space.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Averitt Express associates recently combined to provide more than 4,100 hours of community service as part of its annual 40 for 40 Community Challenge. From Oct. 1 through Dec. 31 of 2018, they served 4,166 hours, with 87 facilities across Averitt’s system giving to various efforts including clothing, food and toy drives, and blood donations.

Experienced over-the-road driving associates will now start at 46 cents per mile. For drivers with less than six months of experience, this rate will begin after they complete one of Averitt’s training programs.
